The relationship between a "strong triad", "weak quad" and "shift hex" is one of cyclic flexibility. For example, between the sounds "O" and "U" lies a transitory phoneme like "oo" in "book". Between the sounds "E" and "I" is the sound "i" as in "bit". In the meta-language, the two opposing lower triads ("I" and "U") signify conceptually opposite meanings (positive and negative). The meanings are first established by the context disignator triad ("A").
