Ever wonder what a large, ominously loud yet decidedly minimalist rock band jamming in an electronic forest/video game room would sound like? Something akin to Physics, on the short list of San Diego's best and most consistently satisfying groups for more than four years now.

This debut full-length comprises a nonchronological compilation of seven instrumentals involving the aggregate's various lineups, which includes personnel from (among others) Crash Worship, Rice, Staccato Reeds, Heavy Vegetable, Thingy, Optiganally Yours, Chune and Powerdresser (whose talented frontman Denver Lucas, a Physics charter member, is featured in some of the last recordings made before his untimely death). Co-founder John Goff has played bagpipes with Three Mile Pilot and, yes, has a regular gig with the local House of Scotland ensemble. But it's here that he, Jason Soares and Rob Crow combine on hypnotically repetitious guitar lines that give each barely titled (if at all titled) selection its structure. The most recent track is actually off Physics' forthcoming album on Gravity Records, evidence of their evolution to a more distinct and integrated sound of guitar and synthesizer that reveals such key positive influences as Germany's Tangerine Dream.
